WHAT WE DO

24/7 Water Damage Restoration in Omaha, Lincoln & Council Bluffs

A supply line lets go under the kitchen sink. A water heater fails in the basement overnight. A January cold snap splits a pipe inside an exterior wall. However it starts, water moves fast: it wicks up drywall, soaks into carpet pad and subfloor, and settles into the places you cannot see. What happens in the first 24 to 48 hours decides how much of your home or business can be dried and saved, and how much has to be torn out.

Our crews work out of our shop on South 22nd Street in Omaha and our location on North 33rd Street in Lincoln, and we answer the phone 24 hours a day. Call (402) 543-3701 and a technician will talk you through what to do while we are on the way.

What to do before we arrive

  • Stop the water. Close the main shutoff valve, usually in the basement where the water line enters the house. If the leak is on the street side of the meter, call your water utility: Metropolitan Utilities District (MUD) in Omaha, Lincoln Water System in Lincoln, or Council Bluffs Water Works in Council Bluffs.
  • Turn off power to wet areas at the breaker panel, but only if you can reach it without standing in water.
  • Move what you can. Get electronics, photos, and documents off wet floors. Put foil or plastic under furniture legs to keep stains from bleeding into carpet.
  • Take photos and video of everything before anything is moved or thrown away. Your insurance adjuster will want them.

How our water damage process works

1. Inspection and moisture mapping. We use moisture meters and thermal imaging to find where the water traveled, including inside wall cavities and under flooring. We also identify the water category: clean water from a supply line is handled very differently from a toilet overflow or groundwater that came through a foundation.

2. Water extraction. Truck-mounted and portable extractors pull standing water out of carpet, pad, and hard surfaces. The more water we remove mechanically, the faster everything dries.

3. Removing what cannot be saved. Wet carpet pad, swollen particleboard, and saturated drywall below the waterline usually have to go. We cut only what the moisture readings show is necessary, and we photograph everything for your claim.

4. Structural drying. Air movers and dehumidifiers run around the clock, usually for three to five days. We check readings every day and adjust the equipment until materials reach normal dry levels for your home.

5. Repairs. Once the structure is dry, we can replace drywall, flooring, trim, and cabinets so you deal with one company from the first call to the final walkthrough.

Why water damage behaves differently in Omaha and Lincoln homes

Most of the calls we get in this area trace back to a few local conditions:

  • Finished basements. A large share of homes in the Omaha metro and Lincoln have below-grade living space. When a basement floods, water gets trapped under carpet, behind finished walls, and inside built-ins, so drying takes more equipment and more monitoring than a main-floor leak.
  • Older plumbing. Neighborhoods with early 1900s housing, like Dundee and Benson in Omaha or the Near South neighborhood in Lincoln, often still have galvanized supply lines and aging drain lines that fail without warning.
  • Hard freezes. Both cities regularly see nights below zero in January. Pipes in exterior walls, crawlspaces, and unheated garages are the usual suspects. Our guide to preventing frozen pipes in Nebraska covers which pipes freeze first and what to do if one bursts.
  • Heavy spring rain. Creeks like Papillion Creek in the Omaha area and Salt Creek in Lincoln rise quickly during spring storms, and saturated soil pushes water through foundation cracks and window wells.

Residential and commercial water damage

We work in single-family homes, apartments, offices, retail spaces, and restaurants. For businesses, we can plan the drying around your hours, set up containment so part of the space can stay open, and keep a daily log of readings for your property manager or insurer.

Working with your insurance

Most homeowners policies cover water damage that is sudden and accidental, such as a burst pipe or a failed appliance. Gradual leaks, groundwater flooding, and sewer backups are often excluded or need separate coverage, so check your policy or call your agent early. We provide photos, moisture logs, and an itemized estimate, and we can talk with your adjuster directly. See our insurance claims page for more on how that works.

Water damage FAQs

How long does it take to dry out a flooded basement?
Most basements dry in three to five days once standing water is removed. Concrete, thick framing, and finished walls can take longer, which is why we take daily readings rather than guessing.

Will I get mold?
Mold can start growing on wet drywall and wood within 24 to 48 hours, so fast drying is the best prevention. If we find existing growth, our mold remediation team handles containment and removal.

Can I use a shop vac and fans myself?
For a small spill on tile, yes. When water has soaked into carpet pad, drywall, or subfloor, household fans usually dry the surface and leave moisture behind. A free inspection will tell you which situation you are in.

Do you serve towns outside Omaha and Lincoln?
Yes. We cover Council Bluffs, Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, Gretna, Elkhorn, and other nearby communities. See our full list of service areas.
